Go Vote.

If you haven’t already, then you need to go vote. Seriously, don’t let anything stop you – not even reading this humdinger of a post – just go vote.

See, you could be part of a historical movement that finally makes it clear to politicians in this country that we are opposed to further European integration. Possibly – and if you are so inclined – you might be able to achieve the opposite effect, but something tells me that this isn’t going to be the most pro-EU of elections.

You could also end up as part of the movement that finally kills Brown’s abortion of an administration. If the election results are as bad as the polls suggest they will be, then Brown’s position will be pretty much untenable. Yes, I’ll concede that the election results will only be part of the bale of straw that breaks Brown’s back (a bale that includes everything from Northern Rock right through to the Blears resignation), but it will give you the satisfaction of saying you played a tiny part in bringing down the worst Prime Minister since Neville Chamberlain. Unless, of course, you do vote Labour. In which case you are more than entitled to do so. And also want your head examining.

See, I do know that, even in an elections like these (which will probably have tiny turnouts), a single vote really is just a tiny part of a much larger whole. Your vote may not count for much, but it does count for one thing. In a system that is biased toward the media, toward the partially elected self-perpetuating oligarchy in Parliament, in a system that is biased against the bloody people it is meant to be representing, your vote is perhaps your best chance to at least have a say, no matter how tiny it is. Yes, experts and commentators may misinterpret what your vote means, and putting an “x” in a box on a ballot paper really doesn’t explain just why you are voting for that party. But as limited as it as a tool to make yourself heard, it is amongst the best tools you have.

Besides, voters can create genuine upsets at elections – such as voting Major back into power in 1992. What little power this system affords to the people must be used by the people. So do us all a favour.

Go vote.

Your choice. Preferably not Labour, but your choice.

One of the small pleasures of post-match analysis (tomorrow: I'm going to ignore it today) will be the Christian Party's fuckup.

I still remember this that you said from ages ago about Huckabee.

Perhaps, in a similar manner, we will tell these fuckers to stick proclaiming Christ's lordship up their arse.

I do know someone who voted for them, oddly enough- a former BNP member who now renounces his former allegiance.

Yeah, I saw quite a few posters for the Christian Party. Including one that said something like "Keeping Britain A Christian Country." Bunch of fucknuts. One hopes that God, in the highly unlikely eventuality that he does exist, is ashamed and embarrassed by knobheads like them.
