Stop saying "Do Nothing" like it is a bad thing

The Labour party on the Tories:
"...the Conservatives would "do nothing and let the recession take its course"."
Now, call me an old cynic if you like, but actually that might be the best plan.

Gordon Brown and his demented, badger faced Chancellor are desperately trying to prop up an economy and a housing market that are failing. And both are failing because the prices have been artificially high for years, and everyone - citizens, businesses, and, yes, the government - have over stretched themselves. This recession, as painful as it is and as damaging as it is for Labour's electoral process, is actually quite natural.

And it will pass.

What will damage the economy in the future, and potentially during a coming upturn, is the colossal amount of borrowing that Gordon and his government have committed this country to. We're in hock, right up to our national eyeballs. And the more Gordon does, the worse that is going to get.

In a recession, I'm all for the government doing what it can to take the edge of the hardships of those worst hit by the recession - but I am not for the government trying to prop up an economy in recession using money they have stolen from the taxpayer or simply don't have. Therefore, I would almost prefer it if Cameron had the balls to say that his party is going to do nothing. But, y'know, I won't be holding my breath on that one...

Someone really needs to come out fighting on this one. We can't afford our over-sized state. It's not cruel to say this -- just the truth.

True, but there is no way any politician would dare say we should do nothing.
It might be the right thing to do, but would also mean sacrificing his own political future for the good of the country.
Most of them aren't really the "take one for the team" sort.
