Eyes off the Ball(s)

One wonder exactly what Ed Balls hopes to achieve with this comment on the al-Megrahi situation:

"None of us wanted to see the release of [Abdelbaset Ali] al-Megrahi"

It seems an odd time for ambitious and devious Brown acolyte Balls to be pointing out the splendid impotence of the government over al-Megrahi. Particularly since Brown has found a new way to show how tough he is on terrorism and to slap down Libya. Still, maybe no-one told Balls. Maybe he's just not in the loop when it comes to foreign policy matters. That would make sense, really. Not just because he is an egregious tool of the very highest order, but also because he is the fucking Minister for Children, Schools and Families. Rather than having any sort of a foreign policy brief. And you would have thought that there would be enough for such a minister to be getting on with given the previous week's news.
