Blair, the EU and Ireland

Letters From A Tory makes the case for Tony Blair being the perfect President of the EU here. It is difficult to argue with his conclusions; ultimately, Blair is a feckless, undemocratic, power-hungry little turd - which is precisely why he'd be the perfect person to head up the EU.

In other news, it looks like Ireland is going to disappoint Euro-sceptics everywhere by having voted Yes to the Lisbon Treaty. Democracy has spoken; if by democracy you mean an referendum being run again and again until a massive, unaccountable faceless bureaucracy gets what it wants. Now, I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure that is a very obtuse reading of what democracy is supposed to be...
